In light of the double Kurzick/Luxon points weekend, I wish to propose that this buff is made into a permanent addition, with the bonus weekends then doubling the points.
That would mean that for 5k donated faction your Kurzick or Luxon title advances by 20k instead of the usual 10k. And that would mean that when the bonus weekend comes rolling into town, 5k donated faction turns into 40k towards the title.

In regards to the books - I propose that each book gives double the faction it does now, meaning that a full NM book would give 80k points and a full HM book would give 240k points.

There isn't any skill>time (lol) involved in maxing those titles anyways, so Anet might as well make them easier to get (again). That way, people can get their GWAMM faster, fill op their HoM sooner and quit the game already.

Why? Need it for your GWAMM? You'll have to work for it like everyone else. I see no reason for this change.

Wait, isn't the norm, after one donates 5k in faction, they receive 10k? If this doubles =20k? Not 40k.

While I don't agree with the idea of doubling the points as an ongoing game change. I would like to see this weekend event and others extended to run over the course of a week and then change again every friday or something.

Well the math is like this:
If you do everything that gives PvE Luxon points (that means quests, VQin all foes on the map in NM and HM while under the blessing, The Deep) and donate books you should get to around 350k faction. Which means that completing the game on one character should push you to around 700k point in a 10 million title.
And that means to max the title - you just need to do that again on 14 characters.

Simply VQing all the areas again should give you some around 120k faction, which means around 250k donated. And that means around 35 additional VQs of the whole Jade Sea.

Doubling the points towards the title/book points would approximately cut this in half. While this is still a pretty hefty amount of grinding - because it still means more than 15 complete VQs of the Jade Sea - it also means that you could pretty much max this title by completing the game on all the guys on your 8-slot account. Which sounds SLIGHTLY more reasonable.

5k for 10k points.
Double weekend means 5k for 20k points.
What I propose is 5k ALWAYS turning into 20k.
And that would mean that when the double faction weekend rolls into town, it doubles the already quadrupled amount - turning 5k into 40k - or 5 times 4 times 2.

I'm seconding Upier on this. I maxed Kurzick by DTSC for two weekends at a row like mad. As a smiter, so I only needed to use half of my brain to boot. Where's the learn to play in that?

Double minutes gained drunk for all alcohol too then. Why should people spend 10k minutes drinking, let them drink the same amount of booze, but max the title in 5k minutes instead (DOUBLE!!!).

Double the Party Points for all fireworks and tonics too.

Double the Sweet points for all candy too.

Although I have not maxed either Alliance title, I would not like to see this happen. Sure, the titles are a long grind, but the variety of sources of points makes it less boring than most. FA, JQ, and AB all provide PvP options for points. Quests (a few repeatable) and vanquishing provide PvE options. Zaishen quests provide more, as do the Young Heroes book and the Shiro book. And as you mentioned, it is an account based title, so yuo are not stuck doing it all on one character.

when they nerf the means to achieve something, they should make it achievable a bit easier.
no DSC/MQSC after the update? let people get their titles without spending more time to get one title than playing everything else.

i've maxed kurzick already - through dsc, mostly as a tank - and i've got luxon in my hom, so i don't really care. but i see the insanity that comes from no-more-sc and getting the allegiance title.

e: @Magma - i've maxed all cons titles and kurzick title. kurzick title is by far the worst, the most boring and longest to max, even with dsc. i've played jq, fa, ab, i've done zb, i've even done three hm books to get some variety. if you were at 8+M in title, you'd know what pain it is, even with those 'multiple sources'.

The title is already a joke to get. Yes it a bit of a grind, but its also very profitable. I can't count how many r9/r8 Oni Blades/daggers i got while doing that run that sold for a descent amount of cash.

DTSC and MQSC really aren't that hard, and are actually kind of fun. If you enjoy farming, then you will enjoy the runs.

Could you possibly have forgotten HFFF already? It hasn't been gone for THAT long, has it?

With respect to the OP, I'd say the Live Team definitely missed the boat with the title rebalance and not substantially decreasing the number of total points needed. The extra points for vanquishing and doing certain missions was a nice addition, but to make the title something that can realistically be obtained without sacrificing months of one's life, either the points required should be reduced or the points granted should be increased. Especially when these ranks are tied to skill usage and every other PvE skill fitting that mold can be maxed MUCH faster.
